BAUMHOLDER, Germany (May 5, 2008) - Col. Nazar Safi, the delegation chief with the Afghan National Army, watches U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Brandon Phillips, a radio operator with 8th Communications Battalion out of Camp Lejeune, N.C. adjust a high frequency radio during a test during tactical exercise Combined Endeavor 2008. Tests done during this exercise will help check the compatibility of equipment from participating nations that fall under the same Standardization Agreement. More than 40 nations participate in CE 08 to plan, prepare and practice a full range of communications, equipment, policies and procedures prior to deploying for NATO missions and emerging real world crisis situations such as the evacuation of Lebanon and response to national disasters.
